William W. Wheeler, III was born in 1974 and raised in Lee County. He graduated fromLee Academy in Bishopville in 1992 and received a BA in Political Science from the University of South Carolina in 1996. Mr. Wheeler attended the University of South Carolina School of Law as a Carolina Legal Scholar and received his Juris Doctorate in 1999. He was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in October of 1999 and practiced in Camden, South Carolina before joining The Jennings Law Firm in December of 2000.
Mr. Wheeler is a member of the South Carolina Bar, the South Carolina Association for Justice and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina.
Mr. Wheeler is married to the former Keyes Madagan and they have two children. Mr. Wheeler served in the South Carolina House of Representatives since 2016. He serves on the House Judiciary and Rules Committees. Additionally, he has served on the boards of the Mid-Carolina Commission for Higher Education (USC Sumter), The Lee County Disabilities and Special Needs Board, and The Central Carolina Technical College Foundation and as Chair of the Lee County Democratic Party.
